Local Authority Fireworks Workshop
& 'Behind the Scenes' Tour - 15th August 2006
Fireworks are one of the most popular public attractions at events and virtually every local authority in the UK has to deal with them, either at their own events or at events run within their area. The aim of this one-day workshop is to provide a brief for those involved with up-to-date information on key issues relating to displays, the safety issues as well as the latest technology involved in putting them on.
To coincide with this years’ British Firework Championships, in Plymouth on 15th & 16th August, The Event Services Association (TESA) is organising a ‘Behind the Scenes’ workshop for local authorities designed to provide a better understanding of how displays are put together, the safety issues involved and the regulatory implications. The workshop will also involve a visit to the firing site where one of the industry’s leading technologists will explain how the site is being set up and controlled. There will also be an opportunity to talk to some of the display companies taking part.
As well as providing a unique insight into display planning and technology, the event will also provide a unique shop-window with eight separate displays over the two nights. You could even have the ‘British Champion of Champions’ at your event this year.
The Workshop will comprise:
- Presentation on Display Safety
- Presentation on designing a public show
- Presentation on the latest firing technology and systems
- Up-date on regulations and how they are put into practice
- Brief on the Championships and what delegates will see on site
- Afternoon site visit guided by an independent industry expert
- Evening attendance at barbecue to watch the displays
