The British Firework Championships – Midlands Heat

The winner of the first ever Midlands Heat of the British Firework Championships, held at Cannon Hill Park, Birmingham, on Monday 26th May, was Dragon Fireworks.

Sandling Fireworks will join Dragon in the final at Plymouth on 12th & 13th August as the highest placed runner-up in all the heats.

The third team at Birmingham was Essex Pyrotechnics.

The competition, organised by The Event Services Association (TESA) and supported by Birmingham City Council, served as one of five qualifying heats for the finals of the annual British Firework Championships, held over two nights each August in Plymouth.

Three leading firewok display companies competed for a place at the Plymouth finals.

The 2008 competitors are:

  • Dragon Fireworks
  • Sandling Fireworks
  • Essex Pyrotechnics

Each entrant was required to produce a 10 minute display.
