The British Firework Championships – Scottish Heat
Leith, Edinburgh - 24th May 2008

Fireworx Scotland won the Scottish Heat of the British Firework Championships at Ocean Terminal, Leith, Edinburgh, on Saturday 24th May.

They beat Blast Design Fireworks and 21st Century Fireworks and will now represent Scotland at the finals in Plymouth on 12th & 13th August.

The competition, organised by The Event Services Association (TESA) and supported by Edinburgh City Council, served as one of five qualifying heats for the finals of the annual British Firework Championships, held over two nights each August in Plymouth.

Three leading firewok display companies competed for a place at the Plymouth finals.

The 2008 competitors were:

  • Blast Design Fireworks - reigning Champions
  • 21st Century Fireworks
  • Fireworx Scotland

Each entrant was required to produce a 10 minute display.

Thanks to the generosity of Edinburgh City Council, admission to the viewing areas at Ocean Terminal was free to members of the public. Edinburgh Events Web Site
